You know it's hot when...

You find yourself outside spraying your air conditioner with a water hose at 11:00 at night in hopes that it will cool off a little bit and stop running for 5 minutes.

You hear your 5 year old tell his cousins "Sorry guys, we can't go outside because it's ONE HUNDRED DEGREES out there." Can you tell I've used that one a few times in the last week?

Your shower doesn't "take" and you feel like you need to immediately take another one because you get sweaty so fast.

You get up from getting your hair cut and there are two sweaty leg prints on the chair. Embarassing.

You open the mailbox very slowly each day and peek in to see if the yellow envelope that contains the electric bill is in there. If it is not, then you are happy because you can enjoy your evening.

You get in the pool to cool off and then get third degree burns on the bottom of your feet from the pavement.

Needless to say, it is HOT here & I do not like it!

On a side note, Ethan and I went for his kindergarten screening today at his school. I'm too emotional about the big K to blog about that yet, but it will come.

#1 reason

To watch a re-run of the ESPY awards (ESPN is re-playing it non-stop)...

He was so hilarious and now even Scott loves him, too.

8 years, 2 1/3 kids later...

On Tuesday Scott and I celebrated our 8th anniversary (let's face it, I am not a good enough blogger to post on the actual event date). It is hard to believe that we have been married for 8 years and we now have two awesome boys and one on the way (that is also probably a boy). We have been through a lot, good and bad and I couldn't be happier to spend it with Scott by my side. Heaven knows it is a lot putting up with me for that long!

We decided that Scott would take the day off and we would just spend the day together. My in-laws came down and kept the boys and they had a good time. Being the nerds that we are, we decided to go to Wild River Country for the day. Before we left Scott had to run and get a few groceries for his family and he surprised me with these flowers!! :)

Since we have season passes it was free to get into the water park so why not go!???! It was a little weird going in with no kids, no swim diapers, no secret bag of snacks, etc. We just hung out and ate lunch there and I sat in a chair most of the time reading a magazine in the sun and it was great!!!

After a few hours there we headed back to Conway and did some shopping at Target. As I have mentioned probably a hundred times before our house is totally unorganized. They have all of the college organization things at Target right now so we bought some things so I can totally re-do our computer room! I will post the pics once I am done. I almost feel like we need to back a dumpster up to that room in order to get it cleaned out properly.

THEN, the best part of the day was going to eat dinner at Fuji. We LOVE LOVE LOVE Japanese restaurants and I could just eat fried rice until I am ill. I actually asked Scott if he wanted to lick his plate before we left because there wasn't one speck of food left on it. I also LOVE that ginger sauce. MMMMMMMMMM!

It was a great anniversary and a great way to regroup and focus on each other for the day with no distractions. Scott, thank you for these past 8 years and I can't wait for many more to come AND the cruise in two years on our tenth!! :) Thank you for being you! I didn't take any pictures on our anniversary, but here's one from the 4th of July with our matching shirts that we wore--against Scott's will!

Scrapped out!

I got home last night from a long weekend of scrapping. There is nothing better than leaving town on Friday morning knowing that the biggest concerns of the weekend are getting pages done and enjoying the food. We had a great time scrapping this weekend.

I made it to bed around 2am both nights so that was pretty good. There were some girls that stayed up until 6 & 8 am on Saturday night! I don't know how they were functioning yesterday because I was tired and didn't stay up NEARLY that late.

Here are some highlights:

The FOOD!!! It is always good, but it was great this time. I learned of a new dish called cream tacos. I am still saying that this is a made-up term that I would have gotten made fun of for, but it was so good that I can't make fun of it anymore. I was hoping they would have a "snack bar" moment, but that didn't happen.

The bottom bunks no longer have "ghost rags" that hang in your face and haunt you in your sleep. This was my first time for a bottom bunk so I was especially thankful for this.

We had a fun time listening to some good tunes. Much to my dismay I forgot my Dixie Chicks CD that we jammed to last time, BUT I had Scott's cd's in his car and we had a fun time listening to Monster Ballads. There is also a girl that is there who's husband makes her cd's (isn't that sweet???) and the Valentine edition was especially awesome.

We had an extra special visitor on Friday night that we were ALL SO EXCITED to see! :)

I have officially won a bet:
Raven Symone WAS in 35 episodes of "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper". Read it and weep...you know who you are...tooooo-shay
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0712368/

Things from home you remember to appreciate while at the scrapbook weekend:
-A HOT shower that has water pressure
-Your own bed
-Light--our room must have blown a breaker so we had no light in our room or bathroom on Sat night.
-An awesome husband that corralled the kiddos all weekend alone.

I am so thankful for these weekends every 6 months to get a nice break. It feels so good to be able to relax & have these awesome women from all over that we can laugh with, cry with, and pray with. Thanks for the weekend, ladies! Can't wait until January!!!I have high hopes that this baby will not come early so this HEIFER can be
there. Let's hope I don't get stuck in one of the bunks if I do. They are pretty close quarters.

Goin' scrappin'

This weekend is one of my biggest weekends of the year. It is my scrapbook weekend. I will get there tomorrow morning and not come back until Sunday night. I am usually SO excited and SO ready for a weekend away. I am still ready for a weekend away, but I have gotten so used to being home with the boys that I am a little sad to go! I am also going to miss my friend that cannot come! It will still be a weekend of relaxing, scrapping, and laughing.

Reece had a big milestone this week! Pee pee on the potty!! Well, he sort of "missed" the boy sheild on the training potty and it went all over the floor. He said "I spilled it!!!" I told him that was definitely ok! Then he went into his room to get another Pull-Up and I heard him go "Mooooooommmmmy, I spilled it again!" Whoopsy! He has a LONG way to go, I think we are headed down the right track. The goal is: potty trained by new baby time. I do NOT want to buy diapers for two.

I also have a special shout out to our friend Aaron who began chemotherapy today. You definitely need to check out his blog and read about his journey. His faith through this difficult process is awesome and so inspirational. He has taught Scott and I a lot in these last couple of weeks. Instead of immediately asking "WHY ME?" (like most of us naturally do) he is saying, "why not me?" It is definitely a must read.

I think that's all for me now. Have a great weekend everyone. I'm excited to re-visit my pictures from the past 6 months and get some major scrapping done! :)

What a week!

What a great week it has been at our house! I was thinking that I may get bored or not know what to do now that I am not going to work. Let me just say that this did not happen at ALL! I have loved every minute of it. Here are some of the things I did this week with my new freedom:

Slept until at least 7:00 each day (Ethan had a lifetime record of waking up at 8:00 this morning)

Swam in our pool. I have only been in it once all summer so far because there has been no stinking time

Watched my friend's awesome and hilarious boys

Went to Wild River Country with my sister, the boys & their cousins and had SO much fun!

Made homemade pizza & Ethan helped

Watched at least 3 re-run episodes of American Gladiators

Ate 3 pb&j sandwiches--is this my new lunch meal? I sure hope not. Let me just add that if you toast the bread it does taste a little better

Celebrated the 4th at church with a nice, patriotic service

I even worked on laundry!! Scott couldn't believe that his shirt from the day before was hanging in his closet when he got home from work the other day.

I am so thankful and blessed for this new life of mine. I told Scott today that I don't think I can ever work full time again. It's just too much fun being here with the boys.

On a side note, I have NOT watched Days of Our Lives and WHEN is Regis & Kelly on? I can't seem to find it!
