Update

Yes, I know...I have totally been neglecting my blog. I have probably lost all 5 of my readers at this point. I love to read blogs. I especially love it when they are updated a lot. How wrong of me to never update my own. Sorry!!!

Here are a few things that have been going on:

I had a GREAT time at the Race for the Cure. It was so much fun. We always have the best time. Let me tell you, though, that walking from the hotel to the race, walking the 5k, back to the hotel and then the mall all day did a number on me! I came home and fell asleep on the couch just after 8:00. I could hardly walk! I just thought my groin was hurting before. My friend Shanda sent me a text when the race started that said "praying for your groin" HA! How hilarious! Now is that a sign of a true friend or what? I can't say I've ever prayed for someone's groin. I am laughing as I type this. Here is our group shot. It's a little far away but there we are in front of the big pink ribbon. Aren't we cute? Next year we will have my little one with us. So much for me getting away with no kids for the weekend!

In other news we have been spending a LOT of time at the soccer field. Ethan is loving it this year. He likes to predict how many goals he will get each game. He get so excited when he gets a goal. I have to say that I have found myself jumping out of my chair to cheer for him, too. Something really comes over you when you see your little guy out there so excited! Here's an action shot of him. (the pink ball is his coach's, not ours)I also went to the pumpkin patch with Reece and his pre-school. He got to get three little pumpkins and he was so excited. He carried them around for about a week. Come to think of it I think he was toting them around just yesterday. I need to check his toy box. That would be very unpleasant to forget about!

Well, that's about it! I am feeling good and am now in the 3rd trimester which is hard to believe! This has gone by so fast! I have had fun looking at girly stuff and planning for the nursery. The name is still not final. She will get one, no worries.

Watch D.O.G.S

Ethan's school has a program called Watch D.O.G.S. which stands for Dads of Great Students. It is where the dads sign up to be at the school all day helping out. He will help in the drop-off line, at recess duty, and pretty much anywhere the school needs him throughout the day. He will also get to eat lunch with Ethan. They are both so excited. Ethan is so proud that HIS dad is the first Watch Dog in his class. Dad will get a tray but since they are having spaghetti with meat sauce Ethan took his lunch. (picky, picky boy) He was also excited to wear his new school t-shirt on the day his Dad would be at the school. Reece and I were happy to send them on their way. They were happy, kisses all around. Just when my toaster strudel popped up, Scott came back in. Hey Jen, you are going to have to take us, my car won't start! UGH! So much for a day off from taking and picking up! So we all loaded up and dropped them off for their fun day. Now Reece and I get to jump the car (with my mom's help of course) and get it fixed today while they are gone. I have to say that the Lord definitely knew when this should happen because if Scott were headed to work in Little Rock this morning it would have been a nightmare with his car not starting!! I was so proud to drop my two "boys" off this morning and am cherishing this time when our boys love being seen with us and give us kisses and hugs in public. He is so proud of his Dad today.
In other business, I have been a major blog slacker. I like to have good material but I just really haven't had any. I doubt you want to see pictures or hear about Reece and I going into Dollar General, me doing work on the computer, or me walking to the mailbox so I have just taken a blog break this week.
I am EXCITED about this weekend!!! Race for the Cure here I come!!! My mom, sister, two nieces, two aunts and two cousins will all be together and we are sure to have a great time. We will also get to see one of my other cousin's wife and sweet baby girl while we are there, too. I am sure I will be emotional as we stand there and pray with about 45,000 other women. Praise God that we see SOOO many survivors and I couldn't be more proud of the survivor that is with us! It will be a great day and here's to hoping that the 6 month pregnant woman and her groin hold out for 3 miles. This will be questionable.
Happy weekend!

October

Don't you just love my new festive background!??! I am very proud of myself for that one!

Happy October!! I love this month. I thought I would share the reasons:

NATIONAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH!!!
My mom is now a 3 year breast cancer survivor!! All of the ladies of my family have been walking in the Race for the Cure every year now since well before my mom had cancer. It has always been a very important and special weekend to all of us. It means so much to walk with thousands of other women with one common goal. I can't wait for next weekend and everything about the race, the free goodies, staying in a hotel, the laughs, and of course the shopping and Red Lobster that follows the race. (we have to replace those calories we just burned, right?)

FALL
I am so happy that it is fall. I do not love the heat nor do I love the cold. Fall is the perfect mix of both and I like to break out the long sleeved shirts and jeans. The boys always look so cute in long sleeved shirts and jeans after a long season of shorts and t-shirts. I love watching the trees change although I don't see as many around here as I did "back home" growing up. I also like to break out the soup recipes and have a good bowl of chili or chicken & dumplins (those have to be made by Mom, though).

HALLOWEEN
I love to pick out costumes and prepare for halloween each year. I know that some say it is the "devil's holiday" but you can make it fun and not about that. I used to go trick or treating every year as a kid and I loved it. Now I love that I get to take my boys and see how excited they get. I also love raiding their candy when they aren't looking, too.

PUMPKIN PATCH
What is more fun than an afternoon at the pumpkin patch? Fall is in the air (unless it's still hot), the pictures are adorable it's just a fun time. Then I love to carve pumpkins about a week before halloween. This year we have already planned to carve Reece's pumpkin with missing teeth and all, for the effect.

CANDY
Yes, the candy is in full swing this month. I have to say that I am really bad about the candy and I do love candy corn. The problem with candy corn is that there is no happy medium. You can be so happy eating it and then just ONE piece too many can put you into sugar shock and then you are ill. I'm still going to get a bag soon, though.

One reason this month did not start out great:
Last night Reece decided he did not want to sleep. This is not good since he is the best sleeper of all!!! After getting up twice I was exhausted. When he showed back up at 3am I just pulled him, his ratty puppy who he's named "baby born", his blanket, and a metal Thomas the Train in the bed with us. It is against everything I believe in, but I was just so tired. So here I am, Daddy is snoring, Reece has my pillow and covers (and all of his stuff), and I am clinging to the edge of the bed for dear life--pregnant belly and all. Every time I move he moves, and every time I try to get comfy there is a metal train in my ribs. Baby sister is awake and beating on my bladder. Not a good start to my good month of October. I think it's naptime.
