We're seeing PINK!!!!

We now have a PINK nursery!!! Hooray! Reece has officially moved in with Ethan and the pink has taken over. My mom came over yesterday and painted the nursery. I would like to say that I helped but I helped with the trim on the first coat and then she took over from there and wouldn't let me get in there. It looks GREAT!! Here is a preview of the nursery. I am not finished in there yet of course, but I was excited to get the bedding on and the curtain hung.

I will be 32 weeks on Friday and cannot believe that "baby sister" will be here in less than 2 months! We are having another ultrasound on Monday and let me tell you that she had BETTER still be a girl or we are in big trouble!

Here's a Reece funny for you: My parents came over the other day and my mom came in first. Reece said "Grandma, where's your friend Grandpa?????" Hilarious. He is so funny.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving! We are looking forward to it and are so thankful for SO many things.

Thankful

First of all, I have to share this video. Scott took this video at Ethan's last soccer game. He does his trademark move the "pull back" and goes in for a goal. As he did with every other goal this season he jumps up and down and puts both fists in the air. Priceless. I'm so glad he got this on video. I have watched it so many times. I am also glad that he put music to the video because the unedited version has my Mom and I screaming "GO ETHAN" "GO TIGERS" and my Dad chattering in the background. No one needs to hear that. I can't remember how to put the YouTube thingy on the blog. I think I am losing skills the longer I do not go to an office each day.

As Thanksgiving approaches I cannot stop thinking about how thankful I am for this life. God has blessed us so much and he deserves all the glory. We are SO excited about our new baby "sister" that will be here soon enough. The boys talk about her non-stop and are constantly kissing my belly and Ethan loves to feel her kick. Any time Reece sees the color pink he says "MY BABY SISTER'S FAVORITE COLOR!!" I love it and am so thankful for these days with my boys. Are there days when I want to pull my hair out....absolutely, but I know that these days will never be here again.

I heard of a great Thanksgiving tradition that I must share. I recently joined the local MOPS group. At our last meeting our group discussed holiday traditions. One girl mentioned that about 7 years ago her sister-in-law made a Thanksgiving scrapbook for the family. She had everyone write in it and write what they were thankful for that year. She said that her poor sister-in-law got made fun of and everyone thought it was cheesy. She said that she continued to bring it every year and make everyone sign it. Each year brought more words from everyone and it has become something they all look forward to each year. She said that her daughter was 7 when they started it and now she is 14. She talked about how exciting it is to look back through the years and look at what her kids have written through the years. I think it's a great idea and I am going to do it for our family. I am not going to take it to the big family dinner, but I am doing ours with just the 4 (soon to be 5) of us. It doesn't even have to be a scrapbook, it could be a notebook. Anything to capture those times & memories. I am looking forward to it and to seeing what my boys have to say they are thankful for this year.

All over the place

This post is definitely going to be all over the place. Just a warning.
First of all, Amie requested that I post a profile pic of me at this stage in my pregnancy. Ummm, sorry, but you must be out of your mind!! I try to avoid the camera at all costs during pregnancy so there is no way I am turning to the side and getting a picture. Not to mention that my "baby bump" is not very big...the weight has just evenly distributed itself all over me...mainly my rear.
Speaking of weight, I went to a jewelry party last week and found out that bigger earrings take 10 pounds off of your face. Why hasn't anyone told me this before? Needless to say I got out my big hoops.
After his brother spilled a drink in the living room, Ethan decided he would post a list of rules for our house on the fridge. I had to take a picture because he cracks me up.

In case you can't read the 5 year old writing here they are:

1. NEVER (I love his use of all caps) put drinks in the living room

2. NEVER touch the oven when it's hot

3. Clean up your mess

4. Listen to your Mom and Dad

5. Never call people names

Let me just say that these have come in handy!! I don't know how many times I have said to him..."You're not obeying rule #4" or "Reece, don't forget about rule #1" I did call Reece a monkey on the way home from church yesterday and Reece called me out on rule #5. Funny stuff.

Three of my good friends gave me a shower the other night for some friends, family and co-workers. It was a great time and I had fun opening ALL GIRLY STUFF!! I got a little outfit that has a pink vest with fur on the collar with cords and boots. It's so cute I'm wondering if Old Navy sells a matching outfit for Mommy. Kind of like those nightgowns we used to get when we were kids that had a little matching one for your doll. Here's a picture of the table and the CUTE cake that my mom made. It tasted equally as good as it looks. I posted the side picture because I wanted to show off that there was a little baby in the bassinet. I got a lot of other great pics of everyone that came, too! I don't know the blog etiquette on posting picture of people without their permission so just imagine the good group that was there. It was a great time.

I will leave you with this last random moment I had on Sunday. As I was finished checking out with my groceries the checker said "Do you have your Kroger Plus Card, ma'am?" I NEVER release my card until the end of the purchase no matter how many times they ask while I am unloading. One reason is, can't they see that I have enough going on with my groceries, coupons, and usually my 2 year old to stop everything and dig for my Kroger card? It can wait. The second reason is that I like to watch the total go down down down all at the end. I gave him my card and then I said "Oh, I have some coupons, too!" I handed him my stack of coupons. When I say stack I DO mean stack. I am becoming quite the pro I must say. He said "Oh wow, (not excitedly) you DO have a lot of coupons." I just smiled. Then he said "WELL, we'll just have to see if they all work." WHAT!!??!? Does he not know who he was dealing with? Does he think that I am going to take the time to cut all of those coupons and buy the products to go with them to hand him a stack that doesn't work? I had a stinking folder with me for crying out loud. I wanted to just push him out of the way and scan the coupons myself but I just politely said "Oh, I know they will all work." Teenagers.

Halloween & a plug for Mom

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! We had a great weekend and the weather was great! We dodged a big bullet Friday night when it started raining at 5:00. Luckily it stopped by the time we finished dinner and the weather was great for trick or treating! :)
Here are some pics of Superman and Spongebob along with the pumpkins we carved. Ethan named his Carvy and Reece named his Barby. They were so excited to get candy!! They had so much fun trick or treating and Reece was able to keep up this year. Ethan couldn't wait to count his candy when he got home and he got 74 pieces. Not so good for Mommy, who has her glucose test tomorrow. I hope I pass!!

Anyone looking for a good baby gift!??!?? My mom is selling these blankies and they are SO CUTE!!! They are $25 each and she will put any name on them (on the heart). She can also put the name and date of birth or really anything you would like. You can choose your font, also. If anyone is interested, then just email me at jenkailey@conwaycorp.net. She also makes the cutest bags! :)
